Are these quail loud? I can't have roosters, and I wince every time one of my girls starts making really loud noises, because I have had trouble with neighbors before. Even if it is legal for me to have chickens, I don't wanna provoke the neighbors...

Do the roosters "crow" often?

everybody's interpretation of loud is different. After my full grown roosters crowing the answer is no. But in a small close neighborhood, they might sound loud. And they are persistent, especially this time of year.

Our neighborhood is stuffed with wildlife so my Co. Roos just blend into the other birds. Sandhill Cranes are loud, my roos arnt!

At home, they are not loud... on a condo balcony managed by an HOA in sterileville, boy does that crow echo over the complex in the mornings... I got rid of my male before I was called out.

well, I've got a dozen 2 week old chicks coming tomorrow- in exchange for a batch of Cornish eggs. So we'll see what happens. How early can you sex them?
