Coturnix quail feed

I thought I'd mention what DH came up with while I was out of town last week when the coturnix hatched. He used our magic bullet to chip up our unmedicated chick starter. They are much happier eating now that the crumbles are tiny.

It's best not to feed medicated feed for long if at all on quail. As little chicks I haven't had a problem but after they are several weeks old they can overdose on it. Most won't use medicated at all. For buttons and serama chicks I run all their feed through a magic bullet. The coturnix didn't really need it. They could eat gamebird crumbles fine.
