Well we weren't talking about your birds were we?

Why such a response? He was only proving that your biased and unfound assumptions have no basis or referenced facts to go by. It is narrowmindedness and ignorance of some breeds that push them to extinction because the "all knowing" sheep are too scared to learn something new or find out something on their own.

Because when you put a little thought into it, the probability is that its a fighting bird. Use some intelligence.....

#1 That bird didn't look like it was in ANY kind of show condition.
#2 It was on a dirt floor
#3 Did it look like a little OEG?
#4 If it was an actual show winning bird, wouldn't you think they'd post that info to help sell the bird?
#5 The ad said PURE GAME! How much more blantant is that.....

Dont fault me because I tell it like it is, and you dont like my blunt response. Frankness is not a reason to accuse me of ignorance and unfound assumptions. If you use a little intelligence and thought, all the clues add up!

There is no proof in any of your assupmtions...
1. That rooster could have been moulting, it is that time of year and yes even show chickens moult.
2. Lots of chickens live on dirt floors, especially as they eat any greenery in their pens, if it's not cold or muddy they can do without bedding
3. Looking a little like a breed that's been bred for show since the late 1800s... that's very incriminating
4. Yes if they were smart they would list the show wins if there were any however they provided a phone number so if you are interested they can tell you more
5. Pure Game is suspicious but it could just be saying that it hasn't been crossed with a non-game breed

You didn't "tell it like it is" you were rude and arrogant to the person who was just providing information that you lacked. Trust me, I know you must know alot more than the rest of us, there is a link in your profile on how to bathe a silkie for heavens sake, you surely must know all there is to know about dubbing and such. If I sold you a silkie crossed with a RIR, and only advertised it as a silkie, would you be upset if you bought and received the bird and it wasn't? Thus the "pure game". And what bird is in "show" condition during the moult? For all I know the thing was a dubbed leghorn that was still moulting out.... A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a pic will never tell you the entire story, especially when it comes to poultry...

I just pointed out that there could be other reasons, it's called open mindedness... I'm just providing a counter for the younger members or those inexperienced with game breeds, hopefully they will take away from this thread that a dubbed rooster is not synonymous with a fighting rooster and question things themselves... as any intelligent person would do

I dont claim to know any more than the next person. What I do claim is that I based my assumption on things I observed. If you, or anyone else doesn't like my assumption, or opinion then "move on" as they say. I can sit and debate this with you or anyone else all night long. My assumption is my assumption, and its based on observations made with the information available, at the time it is presented. May be rude, may be arrogant, and may be whatever other negative label you'd like to insert here, but it is what it is, take it or leave it. Nothing says you have to agree with me anyway...

Plus, even if it is, what is wrong with that? I raise gamefowl, and enjoy them thoroughly! You won't find a better chicken for personality, broodiness, health and vigor, and a more self sufficient breed than them. Just because you don't agree with cockfighting, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with owning them, and preserving the breed. Try some, and you may just change your mind about games! They are wonderful birds!

Trust me, differences of opinion are what make this country we live in so great. Was simply stating that you could have been a little more acceptive of anothers opinion and information they had to add to the discussion. Personnally I never try to ASS/U/ME anything, you know the old addage to that.... Your assumptions were just that, assumptions, guesses from your "knowledge" on the subject. Was disheartening to see a valid point made by another member be replied to so gruffly. And you are correct, we could debate this all night, but the student has to be ready to learn before it is worth the teachers time....
