Countdown To Eggs! For June hatches 😊

Who knows? All 12 of mine may be laying. The most I’ve gotten in one day is 7. Being hybrids, I figure eventually they will line up 12 eggs in one day. So, they probably are not all laying.

My other Easter Egger was hanging out in the nest box today making weird squeak sounds! I didn’t expect her to be close to laying, but now I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Hoping for a teal or mint color…I have a blue egg already & an olive egger so it would be super cool to have 3 different shades! Maybe in the next few days? 😳

That’s funny because it seems the general consensus on here is that EEs more commonly lay blue eggs. All 7 of my EEs lay or have lain green eggs.

The 3 we have at the family farm, one lays a true blue, the other are more whitish-mint. And of our 3 Olive Eggers, two laid teal and one laid cream. The new Whiting True Green there actually lay a beautiful olive. Lol. I just enjoy variety. 😊 The one blue egg layer is currently molting so we haven’t had a blue egg in our cartons for a few weeks.

My June 2022 chicks laid their first eggs!! :wee :celebrate
I suspected one of the three laid an egg in mid-Dec but could never pin down which one exactly. Well, my little lemon cuckoo Niederrhieners, Daisy and Donald (Daisy is lemon yellow-Donald clearly NOT) laid two very different eggs which I witnessed them exiting the nest and the eggs were still wet—Donald laid a pale cream egg ( the smaller of the two in carton) and Daisy laid a matte light brown with heavy bloom (in hand pic). My final June girl, a sweet but camera shy bielefelder named Daphne laid her first rich brown speckled egg just after Christmas, obvious pullet egg (top right egg in carton). All weighed about 35-45g. Cute lil eggs and I am so proud of my girls šŸ˜
