I have 5 1/2 week old pullets in a dog cage (not crate) that is open weave all over. I've been covering them at night with a blanket, like I always did with my birds. They seem to 'chatter' in there for awhile, so it's making me wonder if they don't like being covered? They are in my laundry room and the temp is is mid 60's at night. I don't have them under a light or heat. am I doing okay by them?

They ideally would be at 75f - 70f. However if the blanket is thick it should be fine.
They are chickens, not glass. Just watch for sneezing and puffed feathers really.

Chickens chatter, just what they do.
