Cows are STUPID! My good deed for the day

Pigs are pretty smart creatures though.

I tried to adopt a pot belly, about 200 pounds I guess, from the potbelly rescue, talked the hubby into it, thought why not? They would not LET me adopt one unless I build it its own home. Apparently, they come out of cow and goat fencing. Yea, hubby is not building a pot belly playground. Oh well.

Me thinks cows don't have very good vision, and wire fence is kinda hard to see at a distance anyway (or else my eyes are just getting worse)

They're also really "dumb" when it comes to gates in general, that's why cattle guards work

I've removed a few posts that were terribly off topic and not friendly / helpful.

If members have something to say to one another directly, especially if it isn't helpful or friendly, they should do so via Private messages or not at all.

Also, calling people trolls isn't appropriate. If something is inappropriate, report it.

found this image when looking for a funny mad cow clip and wanted to share. Has anyone seen the mad cow clip (cartoon) where he's running around singing moooooo mooo mo

We have no one here to blame but the humans for the IQ of these creatures. We have selectively bred them for traits for generations, and those traits have never included intelligence. Mothering and other instincts sometimes, but not true intelligence. Mostly they have been bred for meat or milk production and for lack of drive or motivation so they don't make that meat tough, and they are easier for us to handle. Those that take confinement well are preferred while fence marauders are culled from breeding programs so don't be surprised that those heifers did not try and get out!
