Taakaa paced in a small circled waiting for the "twins" Penny and Polly to wake up. It was, after all, well past sun up, and she was hungry. She'd just as soon go by herself, but then she would just get in trouble. She felt her stomach grumble, and she ground her teeth.

Taakaa stepped out with her left front paw, and snapped a small branch. Followed quickly by a small squeak and the sound of a small rodent scurrying off. She crouch low, listening, waiting, her breathing slowing. Taakaa's hunter training was paying off. The field mouse poked its little head up, and Taakaa took off.

The field mouse gave a good chase, leading Taakaa to a skidding halt at the river bank. Man!!!! I really wanted that one. grumbling to herself as she headed back to the den to see if anyone was awake yet.
