A lot of the problems with coyotes arise because "nature lovers" think it is cool to see them. They feed them and the animals get used to people and the free handouts. Then something happens and a pet is devoured or someone gets bitten. All of a sudden, Game and Fish is called upon to remove the animals. But of course, the "Nature Lovers" don't want the animals killed, but relocated to someone else's neighborhood.

This is the "Sun City" syndrome.

There was actually a National Geographic article on the subject a few months ago - in the Northeast, coyote-wolf hybrids are becoming more common.

Around here in NC, anyway, coyotes are definitely getting braver.

The funny colored yotes from alligator river refugee are making their way to NE NC and SE VA I know quiet a few guys working on the " problem " LOL

A little red wolf you think, for some I've seen there is a bit of above the border in them around here.

'Yotes used to be pretty shy in NC - I think they've been getting braver because folks no longer shoot on sight. Why people feed the things I will never know. The pastor at our church has had his chickens AND dog attacked WHILE HE'S OUTSIDE with a freaking light!

Unfortunately, they have little kids, so I think they keep their shotgun locked up and away from the ammo. I've thought about offering to set up bait and wait with our own shotgun in the back of a truck at his house. Smoke the little turds good.

Yeah, for years there were "coydogs" around here- until it was proven to be malarkey.

*This forum is for dealing with predators and pests. Period.

Yes,and I suggested how it is done with NO animals OR birds being killed. Yes,it is more work then getting a bead and pulling a trigger.

We're in an area that didn't have coyotes naturally - until some nitwits imported them for foxhunting ( I don't know why because we we do have foxes!)

They've become a considerable nuisance and a danger to livestock. We saw a pack today in broad daylight. They were as big as German Shepherds, and were crossing the road one at a time, waiting for breaks in the traffic. Much, much smarter than dogs.

You do it your way and I will do it my way. I wont hassle you about what you do and ask you to not hassle me or anyone else who does it their way.
Sound like a plan?

Got one that was after DS's dog. They have been staying away since.
About 50 feet from the house down by the willow tree. Wasn't even dark yet.
