It's not that I don't think I can, it's that I don't have the time to learn something new. I'm a slow methodical learner. I can't add any new skills to my plate right now, I'm still trying to get good at the ones I have ^_^

I'm currently sewing my daughter some skirts (jeans skirts), shirts, and a few dresses.
Learning more about crochet. (making her a doll blanket)
Next is a hat and scarf for my son...

Cross stitch sampler...can't get that going yet..crazy...

And a quilt.... one for me...when it gets picked up...and one for the WM's at our church.
And I've got to purchase flowers next time I go to LR. or Greenville for a new arrangement for the church...the Spring arrangements look kinda 'worn'. Not fresh.

Somehow I missed your post LMC I can sort of sew. I took a home ec class in 7th grade, but haven't sewn since then. Oh wait I made a Christmas tree skirt several years ago...I want to learn to sew better first, but have no idea what to try.

Hills?? What's that?

I call it "Eygpt" for a reason....
we've been pastoring this church here, well...Easter will be 3 years...actually the last Sunday in March...will be 3 years.

It's easy. I'm starting with an 8 inch square piece of cloth that I cut diagnally twice (like an x) to come up with the triangles. The squares when sewn back together end up being 6 1/2 inches. You can make it any size you want though. My Grandma made me a quilt with that pattern for my high school graduation and those squares are 4 1/4 inches. The biggest thing is to make sure, as it's going together, that the points all meet.

This is the first quilt I have ever made and until last fall when I decided to try make myself a couple totebags, the sewing machine and I didn't even get along! I was lucky if I could sew a patch on something.

lol oops, did I say hills? I meant trees, they have lots of trees!
We stayed in Lynn for almost a year.. not too bad there (north eastish). My brother lived in Wynn (south eastish corner).
Come west, we always could use more friends here. Esp if I had my choice and got a new pastor, with a friendlier wife!!

I am from the mountains. NWAR....so, it has been a little difficult down on this side of the state...but, I dearly love to go home for visits.

Give your pastors wife a basket of fresh eggs...or a cake...tell her How much you appreciate her...see if she warms.

Oh I already do! She loves me, as I do her. She just seems a bit stand-offish to some, and others, she comes across as uncaring. Which is totally wrong of them. She cares very deeply about her church family. They take her not needing help with things as being rude, or crass. She is the only person that gets my fresh eggs at church. lol She's the one that convinced me I could operate my sewing machine without fear, she's helped my ego out, my self esteem get a boost. She is a wonderful person. THink I have her convinced she's going to learn to crochet, (she's a red-headed leftie)
Her mom is the bestest person around! Her hugs are anticipated every week from me and the girls. With a mom like that, how could she be deemed rude? lol
