Crafters- What are you making???

Pics
Hi, I'm Georgia and I am a fabricaholic. I have enough to make at least 1000 quilts and I am not exagerating. I have at least a dozen already cut out, at least a dozen tops made and waiting to be quilted, at least 3 dozen where I have all the coordinating fabrics and pattern boxed together for quilts. And then there is the fabric that is for my old world santas, my tote bags, and my vintage aprons. All of which I am making for Christmas presents this year. Yes, I am a true fabricaholic and I dont want to change, I love every thread of it. And I am a buttonaholic too!

ok georgiegirl you have me beat....but i will show DH your post then maybe he will let me buy more (insert evil laugh) I have so many ideas and plans going through my head and when I see the fabric on sale why not buy it then?...its not like it will go bad...lol

And tell him that I now have a second income from all that fabric and am putting my husband through college for the next 2 years. I am selling the quilts and vintage aprons and totes at an antique mall were I just got a booth. And yes, I did buy about half of my fabric, but everyone in town knows I have this passion and are constantly "cleaning out" grandmas old stuff, which is my absolute favorite! I love the old feed sack stuff. The reproductions are pretty but the feel of old fabric just cant be beat. It makes me all warm and cozy inside, like my grandma use to.

I just hoard all kinds of craft and sewing stuff - I have drawers full of embroidery thread, one drawer full of elastics, tons of fabric, a cupboard FULL of yarn, and then I have a pleater to make little smocked dresses (I just never figured that stupid thing out yet,- I keep bending needles) I have an industrial snap press with all colors of snaps to go with it, I have cross stitch by the tote full, plastic canvass, candlewicking and somewhere there is ribbon embroidery stuff I have beads all over as well as stuff like Clay ..... its never ending - cause I found a website showing Needle felting !

JUNK!!! NO! NO! NO! IT'S PRICELESS TREASURES!!!
My husband is currently closing in our carport to be a one room effeciency apartment with tiny bath and kitchenette so I can kick my 22 year old son out of my "sewing room" It is just time for ME now for a change. I am so sick of having to lug my sewing maching and all the stuff with it just to sew a little and then put it all away so we can eat supper. It is making me crazy. My only saving grace is that my dining room window looks out at the chicken run, so I can watch the girls at play while I sew. But I need SPACE! Lots of SPACE! I already have it totally organized in my head. I picked up an old large metal desk from work that weighs a ton for my sewing machine table. lots of room to machine quilt on it. I will make built in shelves on one whole wall for fabric, so I can see it all every day. One wall will have a flannal quilt board for desiging quilts. A table for "all other" crafts, beading, paper making, altered books, mini books, scrapbooking, sculpting, painting craft stuff, doll making, and of course a fabric cutting table. I really need my computer set up in there too if possible, not sure about that yet. Maybe I shouldnt, cause when I get on BYC all time falls away and I wouldnt get much accomplished. Hopefully this will all happen in the next month or 2 at the most. Big dream aint it!

I can't do much today - I peeled and chopped 2 pounds of garlic last night - put it in the dehydrator a few minutes ago - and now my HAND STINK up a storm...

Some really nice stuff on this thread and original. Quick question, anyone know of any good sites to buy like miniature santa hats, bulbs, bows, wreaths, and candy canes (like 1/2 inch size)? My local AC Moore doesn't get the stuff in until after Halloween and they are going out of business

Thanks for any info

KD, your work is gorgeous!!!!! I confess, I am a yarn hoarder too!!!!! It's almost obscene and such a bad addiction that I often box it up and hide it in my closet so it doesn't look like I have so much!!! A true sickness, lol!!!! Is there a 12 step yarn program??!!!
