ME TOO.....

I did snake on MissPrissy's idea, and I covered three altoids tins today with the kids - we used Clay and it was fun! I bet they'd make a nice addition to a christmas basket.

I would like to see what you all are doing with these things.

And, yes, right now you can just call me "Messy Marvin" LOL

Altoids tin...... got to wikihow.com , do a search thru, and you will find like a million and two things you can make with them. lol

I found it last year, didn't impress me. Cant stand the sound of metal scraping metal for anything. lol

I think the tins turned out pretty neat, with the polymer clay - I used a pasta thingie to get it nice and thin, and layed it on the tin, decorated of course and then "cooked" at 275 for about 15-30 min (depending on thickness of clay)

I think they're pretty and could be added to a gift basket for sure.

I think I saw some other tins turned into candles, and first aid boxes, some with ribbon and buttons stuck on for decoration. very neat idea.
(gotta eat more mints)

Thanks! DH's aunt was super excited about hers. The other two (great-aunt and her DIL) didn't really seem enthused, but oh well. I had fun making them.

Goodness, okiemommy - that's a good portrait! I bet your hubby loved it!

Oh and Wildsky - that beautiful checkerboard inspired me. It think I'm going to try making quilted checker boards for everyone next Christmas.

I WANT to be working on our wedding guestbook quilt right now, but since I didn't get to JoAnn Fabrics today, it has to wait. I finally came up with a pattern and color plan I think I like... now I just have to get the fabric. I am hoping to go tomorrow so I can get going on it! DH will be so happy! He's been after me to do that project for US, finally! I'd love to have it done to display in our new home!

Thanks Beth!

I couldn't find any wiki-how info on the tins. Only found how to make a survival kit out of them, oh and how to sneak out of the house, and cheat on a test

Hmmm... since I don't have my fabric to work on what I want to be working on right now... maybe I can make a checkerboard out of denim! Hehe... just grabbed a pair of old jeans and some scissors.
