Last night I moved all my sewign stuff out of the back room. After I got things (somewhat) organized, I made a cover for our Bread Machine.

I love the rooster fabric. Today I am going to make new kitchen curtains.

The denim is at the bottom because I measured the bread machine wrong , therefore I cut the fabric wrong, so I made the adjustments with a strip of denim. I think my accident looks pretty good.

you guys are so talented!
right now I am working on a HUGE crochet 8 ft by 8 ft Tshirt rug...it is about half way done .. that I have to really think about before I pick it up to work on it because it is very heavy! I have never done one this size and am not sure what I was thinking when I started this but I am too far along to give up now!

you can make these (quickly) on a small scale for area rugs.
They are a good way to use up a bunch of old tshirts..your kids outgrows are nice because then you have a memory rug of sorts!

if you have never done one you just take old tshirts cut them off below the armpits to make tube cut the tube into rings as thin or thick as you can handle then chain them to gether pulling them tight and make a ball of "yarn" (save the top parts of the shirts to add fringe when you are done if you want to or stuff a dog pillow like I did )
I am just mixing colors to make it like a rag rug..that way I dont have to worry about a "plan" and just as I get more tshirts add them on them on and the rug is morphing into something very unique and pretty actually! but you can if you want save colors and make a plan.

I am using the biggest hook I could find at the craft store and just back and forth in a half double stitch

so worth the effort they are really nice heavy and washable when you make smaller ones.

I have never done one this size and have no idea how I am going to keep or get it clean once it is done! so maybe this will be a no shoes area!

I love how these feel under bare feet!

you can also make these rugs out of your plastic grocery bags and they actually come out veery strong and look great in the laundry or mud room

Around here we like to see pics, so do you have any of the t-shirt rug you are doing? I sure would like to see it. I think I understand just how you are doing this.

My middle daughter likes to crochet, and it sounds like this would be a great project for her.
