Jacie.....those are beautiful. My 10 year old (w/out seeing you post) tried putting Christmas lights inside our blown out eggs. She got upst because she broke one and I told her that the hole needed to be bigger for the light. Now she won't try cause she's afaid of breaking another.....I told ehr that we have an endless supply
If you have a high speed dremel have her try that for the holes. And it needs to have a diamond bit which you can get anywhere they sell dremel supplies such as Walmart.
And also if you want to get rid of the membrane left in the egg just fill it with clorox for about 30 min. (be sure it it's in something to catch the extra clorox! LOL!) and it will disolve the membrane. Also if you put some glue around the edge of the hole it will make it much stronger because the light sockets will break them.
And another little tip. Never use vinegar to clean an egg. Vinegar will totally dissolve an egg shell. Artist use it to carve out sections of eggs for patterns.
If you have any goose eggs try using them for the lights. They will glow just beautifully with the LED or other lights.
Most lights are cool now and fine for eggs. The thing I would worry about more is putting them in a basket that might catch fire from the sockets.
