Crafters- What are you making???

Those are awesome frogdogtimestwo!!! Did you use a mold or something for those? They look more 3 dimensional, rather than rolled with a rolling pin.

Oh! and the potato candy looks amazingly easy!!! I will be adding that to my list!

I make some really easy Christmas candy when I run out of time and don't have time to make anything for someone, or if I have decided to do cookies for that year. I think they are called haystacks and I have heard that some people make them with mini marshmallows, but I don't use them:

Melt white almond Bark in a skillet until fully melted.
Put in a bag of chow mein noodles, and gently mix up until the chow mein noodles are covered in the chocolate.
Then quickly dip out the "haystacks" in tablespoon sized dollops onto wax paper.

You can make them any size you want, and the almond bark doesn't set super fast, but you still need to work somewhat quickly b/c the longer it's off the heat, the easier the almond bark gets stiff, and harder to work with.

If you like white chocolate, these are sooooooo good!!

Ok...are you ready for this?????

Let's share ideas for handmade items for children (besides gak, silly putty, etc).

For Easter, I was able to do everything handmade for the kids baskets. I made some things myself. Others, I bought at www.hyenacart.com and one item I got from an etsy seller. So, my plan for Christmas is to do all handmade, as much made by myself as possible.

Here's another recipe for homemade ornaments. Actually not just for Christmas, they can be left out all year to make your home smell good.

Use equal parts of ground cinnamon and applesauce. Roll out the dough and cut shapes with cookie cutters. Place on rack so that they can dry all the way through.

While they are still wet, use a skewer or similar object to put a hole in the top so a ribbon or string can be added to hand the ornament with once it's dry.

These smell wonderful and last a long time. Once the smell fades, I would think you could use a fragrance oil in cinnamon to spray them with and refresh the scent....just my thinking on that, though.

All of your ideas sound great. Does anyone know how to make cream candy? It's so-oooo good . The kind that just melts in your mouth? I have tried it a few times but it never turns out.
