I looked and looked on CL, and all the ads were for "to a good home, not for meat", but all the folks who've contacted me didn't want to list theirs because they didn't think anyone would want them for meat LOL! I'd say just list a simple ad, mine is working great. I thought it might get flagged, or I'd get hate mail, but neither has happened.
The rocks still had pin feathers in them, they probably could use another month, but dressed out at 4-5lbs. The SLW were more like 6+lbs, but they were hatched in April. I have never seen so much fat in a chicken! LOL! When I cut the vent area , there was a GOB of fat over an inch thick, and when I took it out, it was a block of fat about 1" thick, and 4"x3". Bright yellow fat! They will be awesome stewed up!
I think my difference is that I don't really care about having "young, tender chicken." We hunt, so even the birds we eat - duck, goose and turkey - aren't "young". They are however yummy when processed and cooked right. The Rocks I'll be able to roast no problem, but the SLW will need either a crockpot or a soup pot - which is fine and totally dandy by me. We love chicken soup and chicken and dumplings. The banties will be simmered and the meat removed, and then the carcasses simmered some more to make a whole heap of broth. I should be able to make a good couple gallons from them.

(I chopped one of the rocks up already - ran out of Foodsaver wrap, so that one went straight to the freezer in baggies)
