They’re amazing!! I think they’re a little scared of me still (all my chicks seem to go through a phase lol) but they let me hold them and snuggle them and they calm right down. Super curious too!!! They come right up to me once they realize it’s me 😂🤣 And they seem super smart!!! They figured out right away how to get back into the brooder as soon as they grew wings! They just climbed up my arm to my shoulder and flew back in 😂🤣 they fly out too of course. 😂🤣 They’re also so brave and bold and it’s hilarious. 😂🤣 they crack me up daily!! They’re the best!! :love

Oh and they also are the only ones so far to try dust bathing (even when they were on shavings in the brooder 😂🤣) and seem the most interested in foraging and scratching around in their outside pen. So that’s a plus. :D
So glad to hear you're happy with them! They're fantastic birds. I also love that they all have different hair.

I’m definitely happy!! More than happy!! Best decision ever LOL don’t tell the other girls but I think they may be my new favorites. 😂🤣🙈

Well, maybe. Jack still holds a very special place in my heart now. :love

But they’re dang close!! Tied maybe 😂🤣

And yes!!! The hair is the best!!! One of them didn’t get very much of a crest but I love her anyway!!!

Mine absolutely convinced me of their superiority over all other large fowl. I'd love to get my hands on a nice rooster.
Brabanters and bantams for me! Plus geese, and call ducks.

Totally. Mine like to spar with the bantam rooster too. They always beat him up.
So that’s a thing with them!? It’s so funny to me!! Especially cause they look like little mini adults already 😂🤣

And OMG! 😂

Poor Jack gets beat up by my girls and he’s like twice their size 😂🤣:th

One of my hens also does NOT like anyone mating ever apparently because she will chase him off them then peck the other girls for submitting to him 😂🤣🤦‍♀🙈

At first I was like like “oh that’s nice, she’s defending them from him!!” Till I realized she was pecking them too 😂🤣

That's definitely a thing with them. They do NOT submit! They battle the poor rooster every time. They are very gentle with my bantams hens, though. They never pick on them.
I have one hen, Nina, that loves terrorizing my trio of khaki Campbell ducks. She trounces them all, and sends them on their way. It cracks me up.

I think I will probably still have other breeds too just because I absolutely love my Leghorn and Easter Eggers too but I could honestly probably just have those three and be happy 😂🤣

I love all my girls though. :love and of course Jack. :D

I’m really liking these bantam Cochins so far too so I’m hoping I get at least a pair or trio or something. :fl

Are the calls messy? I’ve wanted ducks for a while but I’ve always heard how messy they were and I hate the look of muscovies. 😭🙈

I probably won’t get any just because I have more than enough animals already but maybe way way far eventually.

Oh boy!!! They are really going to piss some of my girls off then 😂🤣 I have a couple right now that do not put up with any nonsense from my new birds lol

That’s so odd they only go after the rooster!!

And yess!! Mine crack me up too!! My Buff Orpington is like this little tiny orange spit fire 😂🤣

She’s so runty and tiny but she does not put up with anything from Jack!! He’s made the mistake of trying to mate her once or twice and she gives him a good chase. :lau

I always die laughing because he’s probably at least a 10 pound rooster by now. He is MASSIVE and he's being bossed around by this tiny orange spit fire 😂🤣

His other arch nemesis is my Partridge Rock.

So funny watching him try to be stealthy and sneak up on the girls 😂🤣🤦‍♀️

I like Easter Eggers too, but I have not had good luck keeping them alive. Always escaping, but unlike the Brabanters, they don't remember how to get back in. They just aren't as smart.
I love my bantam cochins too. I only have one left, and she is brooding babies. They're incredible mothers. Incredibly sweet, and gentle birds

Calls are my favorite things ever, but they're still ducks. If you are set up for ducks, they are amazing. If not, they're horrible! Butters is a hilarious pet. I'd not trade him for anything.

How old is Jack now? I bet they'll take more kindly to him when he matures... maybe.
