Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

Pics
I love how he has that color from mom. If he gets the red shoulders and colored hackles from dad he will be one handsome male. You could make some chocolate legbars maybe if you bred him back to some good quality ccl hens. to me the mom looks like half her feathers are chocolate .

My riw x roo is maturing now. hes getting some color in his crest and his shoulders are getting red feathers. They are acting allot like the Golden sex links. The roos for GSL get the red shoulders really late in maturity also.

My Cross to the Barred Cochin. The tan ones, male and female are looking more alike now. but the black chick my roo from that cross is looking really cool. Hes getting gold hackles and has the beetle green feathers coming in his body as well as red feathers in his shoulders. I need to get some pics some time soon. Nicalandia mentioned you wont know which chicks have the gold or silver but the golds sure are nice looking.

I thought I posted pics but I don't see them... so far I have hatched 5 CCL roo x GLW chicks and it appears I have all pullets  One more is pipped and another due in a couple days and that is all I will be hatching of that combo this year. Figuring they will lay probably a mint green egg. Right now they are autosexing.... my question is - to keep them that way who do I cross them back to if I only get females? Will crossing to another CCL keep them autosexing? I Could also go for some olive eggers as I will have a BCM or Partridge Penedesenca roo to use by then. Would either of those combos keep the autosexing trait?

Here are my girls.

Nicalandia. You had mentioned that I would not be able to tell the gold from the silvers on my Barred Cochin x CCL project. The tan ones that are born wild type are definatly silver. The black chick that i first hatched is getting gold neck hackles and his barring in the saddle hackles looks like a light gold. I wonder if its possible the silver carriers come out with wild type down and tan and silver. and i wonder if the black chicks are the ones to carry gold. do you think this is possible or should I still be expecting 50 50 gold and silver and both color varieties. it would be really cool is the black ones were the gold ones and if the tan wild type where the silver ones

I have a supposedly pure ccl chick with clearly defined chipmunk stripes and a light head dot. But it is feathering out like a female so far. I have no idea what to expect as I thought for sure this chick would be male
