Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

Since you want to breed your own I should explain better . A male with one barring will pass barring to 50% of his chicks . You will get 50% males with 2 barring and 50% with 1 barring gene . Females 50% barred 50% no barring . To get a auto sexing line breed a double barred male to barred females in the next generation . You can tell the double barred at hatch like the Legbar chicks . Lighter color and large head spot .

My cream legbars aren't much smaller than my other "normal" size hens...maybe 1/2 lb lighter weight-wise. They love my Jubilee roo and have no issues with mating. One of my cream legbars just went broody, so I placed 5 eggs under her - two of which are cream legbar - jubilee crosses, so was just wondering the result since I don't need any more males.

I had my Lavendes in with my Jubilees for a bit too long. I got a bunch of Lavender X Jubilee crosses that were either solid black or black with copper around the neck (like a Black-Copper Marans). Since they've been separated I've gotten ZERO fertile Jubilee eggs. Maybe the hens just miss my Lavender roo and won't give my Jubilee Roos any action.
