Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

Im very excited. I recently hatched eggs from my Green eggs laying CL hybrids. The 2 pullets were covered by a BCM rooster. When the chicks hatched they hatched in 2 separate colors, solid black and black with white head spots. They create sexlink OE chicks. The reason Im excited is because my 1st generation green egg laying CL Hybrids are sexlink and covered by the correct rooster they also created another generation of Sexlinks. I suspected it through incubation and it was confirmed at hatch. Unless Im wrong and someone has another explaination.

Here are 2 of the chicks

Omgoodness what gorgeous chicks!! congrats!

My friend hatched my mutt eggs, CCL roos (one is sport) over Barred Rocks, she is asking me how to get the crest bigger? of which I can not answer her and is it possible?

I think they are about 4 months old or less, I forgot to ask! She is keeping me in business buying my mutt eggs! She says the males have a white dot and the females all have darker legs than the boys.

the Only way I could see you encreasing the Crest is to introduce the crest gene into the Barred rocks you have... the ofcourse any CL x Crested Barred rock would produce larger crest, but so far that rooster has a visible crest, which some CL males I've seen dont even have that...LOL.. as far as males having darker legs... thats correct because females have only one copy of the sex linked barring gene and Only one copy of the sexlinked Id(dermal inhibitor gene) so their shanks will always be darker than the males
