Hi, we hatched our first 2 cream legbar partridge olive egger crossed chicks a few months ago and we were hoping one of them would be a pullet but they are both looking like cockerels to me, what do you experienced chick identifiers think? šŸ§ the first three pictures of the only one that I have a bit of hope might be a pullet with a big comb, but I feel certain the 4th one is a cockerel. Thanks in advance!

I didnā€™t know they would male specific coloring too, what makes it male specific coloring? What would the female specific coloring look like? That is interesting for future hatchings. Thanks!

Females have partridge coloring were the males will be barred. Heā€™s a cutie for sure hope youā€™ll be able to keep him.

Which parent was which breed?

If the mother was the Legbar, then sons will have white barring and daughters will not.
If the father was the Legbar, then both sons and daughters will have white barring.

they are both looking like cockerels to me, what do you experienced chick identifiers think?
They look like cockerels to me because of the comb and wattles. And if I ignore the white barring, the arrangement of black and gold looks more typical of males than females.
