Sad again to say I have no CL girls. I found her in the brooder this morn not alive. All my other chicks in the brooder are fine though so I have no idea what is going on. I will one day get some CL girls for my boy but for now we will let him grow up and I will put him in a pen with Easter Eggers to create some pretty and crested EEs.

So very sorry for your loss.

Not only will your EEs be pretty and maybe crested, but probably barred. Would love to see some pictures of them...and I'm curious about just how their combs would turn out.

Seeking Opinions: I bought some "Cream Legbar" eggs off of eBay 1/2 doz. Not a great experience overall. One egg was broken, One had a crack, All were dirty. Anyway I sat the remaining eggs in my incubator and this is what hatched. I've have never had any Cream Legbars but the light colored one doesn't look like the photos I have seen. Did I get taken or is this a pair? is the light colored one just a natural color variation?

JMO but I dont think either look like legbars atleast not pure. Looks like the light colored on has muffs(puffy cheeks) so maybe easter eggers.

I noticed the same thing about the light colored one. It has a beard and it doesn't have the white patch on its head or any dorsal stripes. It also has a darker color on its neck which remided me of a wheaten chick with a sigle colombian pattern gene. Does the darker one have a large white patch on its head? If so it could be a male Legbar, but it doesn't have the distince dorsal stripes of the female Legbars for wide eyeliner. I lived in Creek Country for about 10 years and even worked in Kellyville one summer. I know a breeder in North Tulsa that has one of the best Cream Legbar flocks in the country. If you want to add any chicks to keep these company PM me and I will send you their contact information. They should have chick the same age as yours so you can band them and keep side by side compairisons if you want to see the difference and they grow.

Our solo 6 week old boy. DH has named him Russell Crowe. He's just starting to get some "crest" like feathers on his head and is looking mighty fine, which is just in time since we are picking him up a couple of girlfriends this weekend! WOOHOO!

Your chicks do look nice and healthy though - maybe not pure cream legbar chicks but none the less -- nice chicks.
