I got some cream legbar hatching eggs off eBay. It's my first time with the breed and 2nd year with chickens. I got 12 eggs and ended up with 3 boys and 2 girls. I had a broody hatch them. So while the hatch rate wasn't great, she's been a good momma and all are super friendly.

Chicks are now 15 weeks. Three boys might be 2 too many for my flock. I'm hoping the forum could help me learn what to look for in Legbars.

Salt is a tall leggy skittish thing. Dash and Pepper are shorter and super friendly.

Your opinions are welcomed.

Thanks!

I believe that these are cream leg bars. Here is a picture from Google for reference. They look pretty similar to me

What color eggs did they hatch from?

The eggs do not appear to have the zinc white gene which gives sky blue eggs. They appear to be slightly tinted with a tan or brown color over the matte blue color. Feather colors appear to be consistent with Cream Legbars.

I rate blue eggs according to:

1. blue color intensity - chickens with two copies of the Oocyanin gene give best intensity
2. blue color shade - sky blue requires the zinc white gene homozygous behind Oocyanin
3. Porphyrin tinting - brownish hues on the egg surface either give green or olive colors
