Cream Legbars

Hello all! I am new to the breed and have a question. Last month I hatched 5 cream legbar chicks. I kept 2 pullets and 1 cockerel and sold the other 2. At 3.5 weeks old now my cockerel is noticeably smaller than his sisters. Is this typical or just a quirk of the male I kept? And should I be at all concerned? These are not show birds or anything but I do want them to be healthy! TIA

Pic just because. Note that he isn’t quite as runty as he looks in this photo.

As long as he is healthy, just keep an eye on him. He may surprise you later with a growth spurt! As long as he eats and drinks like the others, he should be fine.

This thread focuses on the Cream Legbar but we mix a little of the other varieties in too.

We mostly focus on the Greenfire imported legbar lines but the River Rock, Howington, Canadian, Hambrick Farm lines in the US come up too. We also have posts from breeders in the UK, Australia, etc with their non-US lines.

The Legbar Thread was started before this one and most the Rose Comb, Gold Legbar, Sport White Legbar, Opal Legbar, etc. are posted on that thread. Still you can post any thing that relates to Cream Legbars here which would definitely touch on other varieties and other lines of Legbars.
