Cream Legbars

My legbar was skittish as all get out....until just the other day she shocked me by standing on the nest perch while I was in the coop and let me touch her all over, has done it several times since too...tho I don't expect it to last. This had come from her gradually getting used to me taking eggs from under her in the nests, tho she still bites.

Although as far as I'm aware, the only variety really affected by the french/ English monikers are the cuckoo variety, because the English bred for clean legs and the English variety of cuckoo Marans is what the big breeders here stateside have mainly imported....

I’m in nh (Georges mills) and have a m and female cream Legbar chick pair to sell

Here's princess and the pullet. Oh, and Ralphie, apparently Eli is a dud. I switched him out because I was having a terrible time hatching, and now it's starting to pick up and I got 5 out of seven so far, whereas this whole season I've gotten 5 out of like 70 eggs from him.

That is appearing to be a problem, I assume from all the in breeding. I just gave some eggs to a woman from close to Chicago as her fertility was way down too. I might try and find a flock that did not originate with mine to breed into mine, preferably Rees line so I know they are not too closely related.

I have potentially one good pullet from him that I see, the other pullet developed crooked toes and they refused to straighten out. There's a Cockerel, but I'm not sure since daddy isn't throwing fertile eggs much, if the don wouldn't be the same. You'd think c line might have just enough difference between ab line it should be ok. I think it is just Eli, since Big Ears and Fabio are picking up the slack and coverage appears to be better. I still plan on trying to get to the next Minnesota show again this year if I am organized enough, but only that one pullet will be old enough to bring, maybe her brother. sad face! I have some decent hens this year, so far. Maybe a few of them won't ruin their feathers. My Marans are looking great, on the other hand....

I have some good looking birds and one great looking cockerel. however, he seems to be getting himself in trouble with the older roosters.

I hate to lock him up already for the shows. So he could get injured.
I have what I consider to be the perfect color on the hackles and saddle. His tail is a tad high but not that bad.

I am unsure of my showing ability this fall. It all depends on the elections, and polls. I am running for the House of Representatives and seem to be winning or close too it. If it is close still I will have to pass up the shows to campaign.

I am not sure what line my birds are. I was told c and d, but I see no Rees in them. So who knows. I got them from a divorce sale years ago, and facts were far and few between.
