Cream Legbars

we don t have a SOP in OZ for CLB .
USA SOP call for 7 pound for a rooster and 6 for a cockerel .
I have worked with USA lin before ,they where big chooks . 7.5 pound a rooster. he was massive .marans rooster I had that time did not stand a chance fighting him .

my plan in th future is to work only with a big hens to get the size up . eggs colour does not matter to me .true blue or greenish . they have to be big hens other wise I m not going to work with a small bird .no way .

only need one big hen that all what I need . rooster they can be small doesn t matter to me .the rooster they have to have a proper body pattern . some line in OZ they do have a red shoulder .no good

We don’t have a final SOP yet. We are working on it. Although I lost the size battle :lau .... and the comb battle:gig:gig.
The color is the thing holding us up right now. I know two board members are working hard on it.

you guy are working on one .

it is not eazy to breed a good comb on a crestted chooks . genetically hard to achieve ,the crest tend to poosh the bottom of the comb doesn t let it stretsh properlly .

This rooster is about 2 now, he's molting but not hard. His molt is affecting the fullness of his tail. I'd like to have a bit less Chestnut on his shoulder but I like the well defined barring. I'd like his hackle and saddle to match. He lost some comb to frostbite which is pretty typical for this climate.

As to egg color, while it's not highest on my priority, it's not at the bottom either, but my sky blue egg layers died out when their shell glands malfunctioned and I no longer was able to further hatch from the group. I'm assuming there was a genetic malfunction within that group. I have blue green layers left, so I'm working with that for now.

I am looking for a cream legbar owner and member of the Cream legbar club that lives in the Midwest (as shown on the cream legbar club website)...

to replace me on the Cream Legbar Club board of Directors.

My term expires in a year, so you have a lot of time to think about it. We have quite a bit to accomplish for the breed and APA recognition.

I have asked about having a person start attending meetings before hand and getting involved as an alternate or assistant. The board said this was fine.

If you’re interested send me a pm so we can discuss it.

Thanks.
