Cream Legbars

these are three different birds - but they all have a lighter overall appearance than my other pullets/hens. I don't care for the comb on the oldest one though

I like your young rooster. The pullets/hens appear to have minimal cresting but the colors look OK. Personally, I like the crests and the crests are part of the proposed SOP. Your young rooster might be able to get the cresting trait into your flock. I am new to this breed so my thoughts are opinions and I defer to those with more experience.

yes, the pullets tend to start out looking like Elvis hair, then they don't grow with the bird

hey everyone check out these CL x Barred Cochin. Ive been mainly putting eggs i want under my broody hens but these cochin girls always lay a few of their own eggs into the nest. This first one is a roo and half way to maturity he was born with a head spot like the classic barred roo chicks will be.

So that roo was from my broody hens first hatch this year. They had a second and now a third hatch this year. This third hatch gave me a surprise from my Barred Cochin x CL crosses. Another boy with a head spot but also check this lil one out. The only birds i have with feathered feet are my two barred Cochin broody hens.

I was really surprised i got a chick with a total Cl coloration and others with total Barred Cochin coloration.

Very cool. You always seem to have such interesting birds.

Im thinking this cross is sexlinked. Obviously the two barred birds would be. But what i really like and i hope holds true is i think the male female coloration will be totally different. not just sexable by head spot but by color. Im hoping this tan one is a female. The breeds like Blue wheaten ameraucana and Salmon Faverolles have always interested me because the males and females have totally different coloration.
