Cream Legbars

So the females have chipmunk stripes and males dont? Is this correct?
Chipmunk stripe is the best way to identify females. the stripe is well defined. Boys may have a stripe that is diffused, and I have seen some posts here and even Emily's chick in the Cream Legbar Club's last newsletter that doesn't show a stripe. To my eye, that big head-blotch on the boys is the 'tell'.

Is anyone interested in commenting on my 5 week old chicks? I've posted 2 pics of each (2 pullets and 1 cockerel). I am just curious how they are developing and how their coloration compares?

Thanks!

So today was spa day for my aggressive rooster.
I found he and his two girls had feather mites so I've been washing.
He's been handled and inspected extensively today. I think he even squatted upon grabbing him for re examination .
Time will tell if it helps but I will need to keep up on the mites, so he will have to be handled a lot in the next couple of weeks. Which is good because one washing won't cure him of meanness
Edited to add: he also got to get blow dried with the pet
Dryer as well

Thanks Chickat. I know I am probably jumping the gun but these are my first ones so I am a little excited about the whole thing

It seems like the girls are pretty dark but I have nothing to compare with except other people's pics of about the same age. I will try to be patient!

It is exciting to watch them grow and develop. All my youngest hatches are with new owners - but my older ones will be 12-weeks this Sunday - One of them had almost pure white face and belly when she was tiny:

now she is the darkest of those three females....Something about the 'melanizers' that I haven't found answers to as yet. The important thing is healthy and happy chicks and yours look great. Also, from what I can see, I like the engineering of your coop!

Seems to me that they really do a lot of changing as they grow up.

Your boy looks good at this point. It is hard to tell much about the males until they start to really develop their hackle, shoulder and saddle feathers. The shanks and feet look nice and yellow. You will have to watch his plumage for any developing color as his breast feathers do seem a bit brown at this time. His faces seems to lack the red, especially around the eyes. The females do have some areas that concern me. They appear very dark in the hackle and seem to be lacking the barring there and in their overall plumage feathering. Their faces also seem to be less red than I am used to seeing. Their breast feathers seem more brown than salmon.
