I was wondering. The eggs was labelled from the breeder, so I have no idea what it is. I was thinking it was dark.

The chick is quite dark and looks to have maybe slight silver markings. My guess is the breeder either mislabeled an egg or a different breed rooster got with the sellers CL hens. You should contact the seller and let them know and try to figure out what happened.

If you could, take another picture of the chick once its dry and post it.

For those of you who band your adult Cream Legbar with leg bands and not zip ties, what sizes do you all use for adult male and female CL.

I would like to start banding my adults to keep better track of who is who and how each is related and also to keep bloodlines separate etc.

I tried banding as chicks and it lasted about 2 weeks and I decided it was easier not to band, but Im rethinking that decision and decided for record purposes I definitely should. I do my best to take pics VERY often and do a pretty good job remembering who is who but I would like to do better.

So I think I may order some leg bands and start keeping a Cream Legbar Journal.

Any tips on how you all more experience breeders keep track of who is mother, father, daughter, sister, brother etc, of each other. I currently know but I may lose track if I don't act now lol.

Here are some fluffier pictures:

Very Cute! Unfortunately neither one is a Cream Legbar.

If they did indeed come from a CL hens egg, they were fertilized by a different breed rooster. They are likely sexlink, the one with the head spot being male (don't confuse this for the CL auto sexing trait being passed on). Do you know what type of comb the chicks are displaying? Have you contacted the seller to ask the other possibilities?
