Cream Legbars

Remember too that blue eggshells are hard to candle IMO - Lots of time toward the very end all I can see is dark mass and an air cell. Give them the full length of time -

That is what I saw on the two when I moved them, but I thought I saw a beak or wing or something sticking up in the mass..

I may leave it a few days longer, it can not hurt anything, as I have no other eggs in or going into the hatcher.

Thanks. Makes me feel better about my bad candling..

I have a 'Brinsea ova scope'- with supposedly the high powered LED -- (unless perhaps my batteries are weak?) -- CL eggs just don't lend themselves to internal inspection once you have passed day 14 IMO -- all Ican see is silhouette.

Im gonna boil and dye some legbar eggs. Please dont be mad.
I have pink, orange, blue, and green

These are from white eggs

YOU EAT Creamette eggs??

I suppose it goes well with caviar, truffles and lobster.

Maybe someday I will have enough CL's that I will eat their eggs.

Pretty eggs y'all are artistic~ I tried some Chinese tea leaf eggs -- and because I didn't have the true Dark black soy -- they just kind of came out semi-marbled.

Here's a pict from the internet -- NOT my results -- I will try again one day.

My only CL chick is still in the hatcher he/she is not fluffing out at all. We put olive oil on her when she was too dry and it saved her life, but has caused her (or could be him) to stay matted down to her body. The other two CL eggs appear to be dead.

Hatch day was yesterday, the CL was hatched on Friday and she was my last hatch. I am going to give the CL a bath with soap and water, and put her back in the incubator. Hopefully that will help her fluff out. Otherwise she is a bald chicken.

After she dries and fluffs (fingers crossed) she moves to the brooder so I can clean the hatcher before my next hatch.

Here are before pictures of Her or him..

I gave it a bath and hopefully it will fluff out, I think it is a girl, but not sure.

My hatch is progressing, out of 36 CL eggs in lockdown I have 9 babies (looks like so far 3 males and 6 females), 2 currently zipping, 4 pips and still waiting on the others. Today is a good day for chicks!!!

HAPPY EASTER !!!
