Cream Legbars

I'm interested in getting a few CL to add to my flock. I love central California. Anyone know of a good local person. Or of a reputable person to by CL eggs from to incubate?

Have you looked at the membership listing on the BYC website? There is a listing in CA. Good luck - hopefully you will find what you are looking for and come back as a regular with lots of photos to post!!

So, went out to my chicken pens yesterday & found one of my Rees line pullets not looking so good. She seems to have no balance, falls over & can't stand up. I don't believe she is eating either. I gave her Rooter Booster but she still looks the same today. Anyone have an experience with something like this? I don't know what could have happened to her. None of the others in the pen are sick or acting strange. Maybe she ate something? Thanks in advance....
Love your avatar!

Many things could cause the symptoms that your are describing. Be sure to isolate that chicken from your flock and only treat (feed water etc) her last. If I had a falling chicken I would suspect Marek's - but you may want to check her carefully for any external parasites. Is the face pale - that could show anemia. You may want to post symptoms in the emergency thread.

Good luck with your pullet, I hope she will get well.

She doesn't sound too good. I hope she gets better and pulls through for you. Unfortunately I don't have any advice, just wanted to send some support

@CackleJoy on here is in Modesto I think and I got mine from her. There are a number of others around. I also have some from Pine Creek Poultry in Chico

Also there is a meetup in Turlock on May 3rd and there may be people you can arrange to pick up eggs from there

Thanks! but on that note.. I'm not very familiar with the site. Where do I find the membership listing?

At what age can you tell if offspring from Greenfire birds will be created? If my daughter would like to use a CLB for 4H and show, what should she look for in a chick?

What do you mean by created? Do you mean APA recognized? It will be years before these will be APA recognized. Until they are they would not be good for 4-h as she can only enter them into the pet quality.
