Cream Legbars

Yes, I'll post pictures when they arrive. Rare Breed Auctions is indeed the place. Down to less than 7 hours. My weakness is crele coloring.
Do you like the crele with respect to the breed standard of the CCL?
Or do you generally prefer crele coloring without regard to specific breeds?
I was wondering if there are advantages to mixed breed crele crosses ie for certain color combinations? longer feathers? breeding options for extra CCL roos?

the CCL should not be "Crele" Looking, as Crele would be a gold ducking(Black Breasted Red) with sex linked barring added..

like Crele Dutch bantams

Cream legbar should be "Cream" Crele Almost a Silver Crele but not quite

Silver Crele

We had three boys from a hatch last year. I've got that down to one now and I would love to add him to our hens and get some hatching eggs this spring and summer. But will the hens take to him. They have seen him everyday for the last 6 months through wire. The hens are various ages but all older than him.
What would be the best way to add him?
This photo is from about a month ago.

I got chickens last May after entire adult life without them. Since then, I have caught the bug. I have a flock of egg layers that provide for neighbors and a farm-to-table restaurant. I have since become aware rare breeds including the cream legbar. Not willing to pay the price for the chicks, even at auction, I got some hatching eggs. Tonight, my seven cream legbar eggs went into lock down. So I am hoping for the best since this is my first hatching experience. They are beautiful birds!

Good luck to you on this last leg! Did you candle before you locked down? How many did you start with? Details please.

Oh, and welcome to BYC!

Cream Legbars may not have near as much crele coloring like Rhodebars or Bielefelders. On some of the Cream Legbars there is crele coloring on the back and upper wing. I had looked at the roos on feathersite. I've looked at roos on here. There is such a wide range of differences in the birds. I got some studying do.

Good Luck with your hatch. It must be very exciting! Welcome to BYC and to Cream Legbars. You will love them! Do you have a Brinsea - so you can watch all the action?
