Cream Legbars

Forgot to ask you where you got your Cream Legbars from in case we move somewhere where I can have a roo I don't want them too closely related.

Has anyone crossed a Cream Legbar with a Welsummer??
What did the offspring look like? Egg colour?

Well all Cream Legbars in the US currently source from Greenfire Farms, within probably 3 or 4 generations. My current breeding stock is from Coral (Poco Pollo on BYC) who lives south of BA. I believe her birds are from lines A or B. It was nice to meet you and your sweet boys!

24 weeks seems to be the average, but there are some that lay as soon as 20 weeks and some whom we've affectionately referred to as members of the "Holding Out Egg Club".

Lucy, is now officially out of the Holding Out Egg Club She laid her first tiny 45g egg today. It's about OAC 151.

I have a girl at 18 weeks, a girl at 20 weeks and a girl at 22 weeks... None are laying yet. BUT I have hope the 20 week old will lay soon as she has the reddest comb/face.

I remember Mr C saying that once his hen's combs folded over he expected an egg within a week. And his laid right at the 4-5 months age range. Lucy has a nice red comb and wattles but hers hasn't folded over yet...it might not. Best wishes for eggs.

My 2 Welsummer X CL are very golden CLs with one laying a green and the other a putty grey colored egg.

Congratulations to Lucy! That is an adorable egg -- pretty in shape, size, and color.

Does that mean Jett is the only remaining member of the Holding Out Egg Club? Do I get negative contest points for that?
