I want to get a few more ducks next spring I am sadly down to 2 and I need a flock of them lol. Id love a pond like you have mine get a few kiddie pools placed through out the yard lol they seem to like it. I had to pen them up (they were fully free ranged) because 2 of our ducks got taken in the middle of the night

And by the way Im Kristin, I came to your house a few weeks ago with my girls to pick up the pullets. Im not sure if you knew I was on BYC also.

Sounds lovely! My DW's family were essentially French Canadians that migrated through NH south eventually into Massachusetts. She still has many relatives in Mass as well as Maine. The Maine end of her family are in the Caribou area. While I am from Virginia, I have been through NH and Maine many times. Just spectaculary beautiful country up there ... just those darn winters!!!!

I let a few gold girls and Macduff out to free range and they are back but he's been missing a few days now so I think something got him. I know we have coyotes and fisher cats. I had to keep pulling a couple them out of the trees and put them in the free-range coop at night and he would just insist on staying out in the tree line to the left of the house and something must have picked him off.

I am very sorry to hear that! He was one of the best colored/close to SOP roosters I have seen posted. I hope he just ran off somewhere and makes an appearance again.

I picked up my trio today. It was a little over 200 miles round trip. Unfortunately she didn't want to get rid of any of her younger birds. She had a young rooster that was a lighter color than the 1 I got. This 1 picked on him, she wanted to get rid of it.

Here is 1 of the hens.

Here is the other 1. She has lost some feathers due to molting.

Here is the 1 broody hen I already had. She is all fluffed up and mad me. I opened the door to the hen nest.
