Cream Legbars

If I was to breed a Cream Legbar Roo to a Rhodebar Hen the resulting offspring will be Autosexing at hatch? I think I read that if both birds are autosexing the the resulting hatch will be too? I assume the eggs from that breeding would be a light green? I have two Rhodebar pullets I could not resist but no Roo..I figured I could use a culled CL roo to breed them unless I come across a good Rhodebar roo. Only if they can be sexed at hatch ..if not I will not try it.

Where are you located? I have extra Rhodebar roos. Free if you pick hm up.

Cream legbars seem to be very popular now.
Hi dDiva,

can you see why? It is so neat to have autosexing chicks, and these are pretty, curious, lay blue or blue-green eggs, have a crest, and forage well and are hardy. I have two non-Legbar chicks in my brooder now - about a week old - and it is soooooo strange to not know their gender. LOL We have gotten spoiled.

I am in the middle of a Cream Legbar hatch. Here are my first 6. One is either a hybrid or abnormally colored. 3 cockerels, 3 pullets

You got a very interesting mix...do you have photos of the parent birds?

One of the members here who lives in NM, Steen, said that his darker chicks grew to his lightest adults, which was counter intuitive to what people think. You may also want to band your dark one because it could be that if you don't by the time a month has gone past you won't be able to tell which one it was.

Really nice chicks, congratulations!

Maybe that's like grey horses ... they are born dark and grey out?
