Cream Legbars

Rumpled cream legbar??
Hi TherryChicken,

Did that chick come through the normal process? (i.e. normal looking CL parents etc.? ) -- I think I may have heard of one other rumpless CL - but this may be the first. Do you think it is a throw-back to the original Araucana. (doubt that is possible, maybe somewhere along the way someone introduced Araucana and tried to get better egg color. -- It is sure one-of-a-kind. Where did the egg come from or did you buy it as a chick? -- Is it from your own flock or an acquisition? -- Too many questions?

Thanks for showing.

Hi, as far as I know of the parents are origional crested cream legbars. I've hatched 48 eggs and this id the ONLY one like this. Might I add he is AMAZING stunning!! All his brothers and sisters have tails. I bought eggs from a man in paige, Texas.
I am hoping to get better pictured of this fella

The rumpless gene is recessive so you can get rumpless in any breed.

Two years ago we got a Basque Cockerel and a Basque Pullet that were rumpless. We pedigreed eggs so we knew who the mother and father were. As you would guess they both cam from the same mother and father. Due to predator attacks the father was the only cock bird we had left so we used him again the following season paired to two hens that were unrelated that he hadn't been breed to previously. We never saw any more rumpless Basque but know that it is in the gene pool. I am sure there are 100's of Basque flocks in the US carrying it that have never seen a Rumpless Basque. It looks like their are probabbly 100's of CLB flocks that have the gene too that don't know it. :)
