I am not sure I have any cocks to show. I am hoping to get Andy in a cage in the next day or two, but he may have disqualifications...His crest is almost non-existent.

I do have 4 cocks, buuuuut they will need to molt if I am to do anything with them all. Especially Eli. I don't think Eli's bro will be let in because of a leg injury that led to disfigurement. So, I'm probably sitting at three if they decide to molt fully

I won't post pictures of my cocks unless and until they molt, which they absolutely must do if I'm to look like I don't beat my birds with ugly sticks. My three prospects are Eli, Fabio, and Big Ears. My money is actually on Big Ears, if his crest grows back. Fabio doesn't have a lot of white on his earlobes, but his flowing locks are why I kept him. His crest reaches further than any of my other males.

Big Ears as a Cockerel last year...

A few Fabio mane pics. Notice that the comb (was) about as straight as you could want considering the huge crest. And the crest isn't poofy or spiky.

Andy is not happy, He has become a parakeet as of tonight. He lives in a cage and can talk to me for the next 6 months. I tried to get him to say "pretty Bird"...He refused to talk.

I am not having my last Rooster taken by a predator. Cage life is not that bad for him.

Also I might try and sneak Dead Eye into the competition, Maybe if they disqualify him they will let another through.

I really hope I can get some more cocks to show up. I would like to see us have a good qualifier!

Yea, I have 2 Cocks in the white and a ton of cockerels. I have hens and pullets both. I will not show the cocks as we don't need and can't count the whites towards APA recognition at this time, so they can stay home.

I am going through birds to see who will get a trip to Hutch and who will not. I am having the most trouble deciding on the which Dom's I am taking. I want to take less than 30 birds or it will mean 2 trips and I don't want that.

I am not going to take a turkey this year either. I can get 4 chickens in the space needed for one turkey.

Our cream legbar Cockerel did very well over the weekend. The judge, when I was able to ask her after everything was over, liked how they didn't look like golden crele leghorns, with his shape. He does need a bit more tail, but he's just turned 6 months old, so that will come with time. Did have a brief argument with check in about crests! (Yes, small crests are still crests...)
