Yes, she may not show a crest until she gets her first set of adult feathers. She may not have a very big crest.

Here is my 4 week old cream legbar chick. She still doesn't have a crest... is this normal?
Searched my pics, here's one of my CL's at 7 weeks old:Crest will come in with head feathers....if I recall correctly.
Thanks for the reference! I bet she will look like this around 7 weeks.Searched my pics, here's one of my CL's at 7 weeks old:

If you look closely at the picture you posted the black tuff seems to be there but very small. I am guessing that one will be gold/Crele and not cream. Thanks for the reference! I bet she will look like this around 7 weeks.
Could be, I do have one gold/crele...not sure which chick that is.If you look closely at the picture you posted the black tuff seems to be there but very small. I am guessing that one will be gold/Crele and not cream.
I am sorry, yours is cream best I can tell from the charcoal grey crest and light hackles. But it is hard to tell on young birds.Could be, I do have one gold/crele...not sure which chick that is.
My cream legbar is the smallest of our flock at 8 weeks. I'd say she's somewhere in between those two.Is it weird that these 2 are so different in size at (supposedly,) 6 weeks? View attachment 2100748View attachment 2100749View attachment 2100750View attachment 2100760
Thanks. I might never know the "reason," but the difference is pretty dramatic and they should be the same age, same size. They're supposed to both be CCL. From local freed store, from hatchery and looked same size when I brought them home but at about 2 weeks I could see a difference. She seems to be healthy.... Runt? Or not really same age? OR bantam CCL got in wrong bin ??My cream legbar is the smallest of our flock at 8 weeks. I'd say she's somewhere in between those two.
