MysticChickens is making things up. Whether for attention or feelgood I could not say.
Just because they look similar, doesn't mean they're the same thing. For instance, mottling is much different than the pied color in ducks. Recessive white and dominant white look exactly the same, yet have completely different genetics.Tuxedo Button Quail image from the internet, I don't have quails.

It has a white belly, and blue back. Came from a rare breeds Barnyard mix. That chick hatched out really tiny, and had trouble eating, then it she got pasty butt, but she's doing well now. I looked up mottled, and it doesn't fit the coloration, and pattern.
That's how mottling works... the pattern changes as the chicken grows up.The Blue Mottled Ancona don't have white bellies, & the I chick I have, has no spots on the other feathers.
