Creole Dorkings????

Wow... Yes, I know that the rose comb depends on whether they are homozygous or heterozygous to be dominant. I don't remember which one is what. Either way... It should be relatively easier now for you to breed them back in simply by using just rose combs when you have the type and crele down pat. I'm excited for you both. And jealous you have Ducks birds. Lucky!

i took a couple of quick pics .. they didn't want to hold still for the camera.. so I didn't get pics of everyone.. gonna have to schedule a photo shoot later!

they are at the "ugly' stage (ignore the odd EE chick in there .. I know you can see his feet.. lol)

yeah I know it's time for bigger bands.. lol.. just have to switch them over later today

They are beautiful even in their "ugly stage" time for me to send pictures of mine too...they are just a little older than yours! I need to tag my new ones and take pictures also...and I have some under a broody that should hatch in a week or so....never enough time in a day!

My eggs arrived, today. I can't wait to see the results

i went ahead and culled the little dwarf.. both of his hocks were causing him issues.. so it was better to end his suffering. He was a 'failure to thrive" chick anyway since he STILL hadn't grown a bit.. but he was growing feathers and eating just fine.. I am going to miss that little guy.. but he started fussing 24/7.. so I think he was having pain issues from his hocks.
I still have gimpy chick.. though his days are numbered.. it's just interesting to watch him feather out.. and he's not in pain from how he has been acting.. so for now he has a stay of execution!.

I'm going to want to get another batch of eggs in a few weeks.. emu are out of their bator.. but i don't trust that beast to anything other than emu eggs (temp fluctuations are too great for chicken eggs)

so sorry about the little guy, it's always sad. I just had a great hatch from my Icelandic broody and I am expecting my Dorking hen to hatch in a week. Looks like I need to go back to the drawing board before I incubate myself again ! Lol. Question...I have Dorking chicks in the coop that are 5
weeks old and Dorkings in the house 2 weeks old, both are under heat lamps, can I put them together safely some time soon? suchQuote:
