Crested Drake + Buff Duck

My buff duck just hatched 7 babies. Her mate is a crested. The babies don’t look like either. Some are a darker yellow, others are brown with stripes. None seem to have crests, though it is day 1 so it’s possible we just can’t make them out yet.

Does anyone have any pictures of grown buff + crested ducks?

I am so curious what they will look like!

What is the breed of the crested duck? Crested is a genetic abnormality it isn't the breed. So, knowing the breed would give you a better answer of what the mix will look like.

Crests show right from hatch (unless super tiny!). So once dry and fluffy, you will know if they are crested or not. Only a small chance of them will be crested unless mom carries the crested gene.

As for color, it depends on dad's color and genetics
