What gets me is that our government wants a universal health care plan where it won't cost anyone anything. Yeah, right. Don't they have that with Medicaid and Medicare? I was in the store today grocery shopping and a woman was in front of me in line. She had all sorts of sodas, junk food and SLIM FAST diet poop. I'm thinking to myself "If she pulls out a bridge card, I am going to blow a gasket". Well, guess what she paid for her purchases with? If you said the famous Michigan Bridge Card (foodstamps) you are correct! This is another area where there is tremendous abuse and fraud. I think that if the government gave vouchers like WIC Vouchers or gave meals for families in need it would work better. Too many people abusing the system and milking the cow. Of course it's going to catch up with us soon.

So who here pays1200 a month more in taxes than they feel is fair? That's what it cost to insure a family on a halfway decent health plan. Just a basic plan with reasonable deductibles. If you are paying 1200 a month in undeserved taxes then you should be making in the 120k range. I know some people on this line pull down that much but most of you don't.

I know that paying taxes is real upsetting to a lot of the people on this Forum. Somehow it seems like Uncle Sam should pay for 80% of road cost and facilities construction and subsidize all the stuff that the states do along with maintaining the strongest military in the world along with all sorts of other stuff but taxes are evil. Yet we love our country we just don't want to pay taxes.

I wish there was somewhere you could go live and cut your own trees and build your own cabins and trap and not have to rely on anybody but yourself, but those days are gone. You missed the boat. Time to take off the coon skin cap and put away the flintlock. You can't be an isolationist in the USA.

As for those who don't think you should have to have insurance. I pay for my insurance and I don't think my tax dollars should have to pay for you if you have a heart attack or a stroke or get pecked near to death by chickens. That's the reason for insurance. The more people on a plan the more disbursed the cost is. You may be in good shape, but if you fall off a ladder and break your neck then you won't be in such good shape. You may have to declare BK because there is no way you could pay your bills if you paid everything you had till you died. So then us insured people have to give Mr or Mrs high and mighty take care of yourself welfare.
