Okay I don't know where I said diet was a direct factor in crime. I had a myriad of other reasons people commit crime. I only said MY focus on criminal reform was diet because -I- was in nutrition and I came across some studies that made me think things could HELP if some of the diet was reformed. This topic came about in a round-about way - I mentioned nutrition and people started asking about it.
And yeah... Royd has the diet about right. Your choices are powderered reconstituted eggs and sugar-laden kid's cereal usually.
There is not MUCH research that supports a theory I have ALREADY SAID was my own from my own independant studies and from other studies I gathered from other universities. It's a theory I was hoping to research in much more detail when I got back to school. I think it's entirely possible diet can HELP reformation from what I've learned.
There was a study done, again by the University of Cardiff, where it was shown prolonged exposure to this sort of diet had negative effects on the brain that led to an increase in crime rates. I just feel if -I-, as a personal job, other than this current topic, were to work this over, the prisoners would not be on such a diet and would have better odds once released.
