Crochet along Doily Join us

One medallion done. I'm not crazy about making nine more, but I need to focus. It almost seems like the pattern should have started with the center. Oh well.

That is pretty!! Nine will go fast once you make a couple. It's always hard with the first few. I did do the center first. I never follow directions all the way through.

Having issues w/ row 7 on the center (I'm doing it first too), but I am dead tired so I'll try and figure out later when I've had more then 4 hours sleep in 36 hours.

I cannot do anything when I am tired. I make way too many mistakes in everything I do. I am having trouble with the last row of the doily part. It seems a little too full and ruffely . I may have to use less sc's in the previous rows. For now thought I am going to go by the pattern. I hate making picots. Never was real good at it.

I'm not great at picots either, wasn't sure if I was going to do them or not, I'll see when I get that far.

I am on row 7 of the center, haven't done any medallions, not sure if I will or not.

I am doing mine all one color, since I am going to use it as framed art w/ a contrasting colored background thought the simple one color would look better. It is a medium light blue, almost the color of my walls. I plan on a chocolate backing color.

I am back at work again, so can't post pics, but will try Sunday when I get home.

Row seven takes a minute, by the way! lol lol

To attach motifs go by the picture as much as you can. I never do exactly what
they say because sometimes it looks bad. I stick my hook through the picot on the doily as shown
then I pull the loop through from the motif.

Pulled through. Ch 1, sc in same dc on motif.

One motif petal complete. The next petal will be different because I will be adding a
circle motif. It's just a matter of paying attention to your picots and where the placement it.

That blue is not going to be the color. I just wanted to make a mock-up motif. The whites
do not match and it looks dirty. Soooo I will go with the red on the next one. I plan to put
yellow centers in them so they look a little like poinsettias. I think staying with one color would
be much easier on the motifs. This blue one has two colors variegated and navy blue on the last row.

Here's a picture of the center of the doily
