Crochet "Chat"

Fabric stores used to be on every corner in El Paso, now they are so hard to find! I heard there was quilting and fabric store on the West side, so I'm going to put some miles on the truck today and go see!

I started another afghan. It's the second one using this pattern. It has a flower in the center and then crochet around and it finishes as a hexagon. The motifs are joined with burgundy. I'm about halfway. I was in JoAnne's today but no fantastic sales on yarn. I got quilt batting for double quilts for 50%off and bought 3 at that price and also there quilting rulers were 50% off. I bought two I needed.

Its Done... I posted a pic. in the what are you making thread and theres pics. on my blog if ya want to see them

My Funky Ripple...

No i haven't sounds fun though. I got the shock of a lifetime. Walmart is getting rid of their crafts!! There going to have a small section. I was so upset i dreamed about it. Now i have to drive a hour for yarn this sucks.

I had heard that too ~ but our wally world still has all their crafts ~ I keep hoping that perhaps if they are going to get rid of it, they will have a massive sale of close-outs or something, but so far, no luck. I'm not a real fan of walmart, but every now & again, you can hit the jackpot there. Just yesterday, my kids needed something, and it was late, so we went to wally world ( ours is open 24/7), and I found some really cute tops for $2 each! Can't beat that with an ugly stick, even if I do hate walmart, lol. ;-D

They've already remodeled our store and they added more room for groceries and did away with a lot of their books (and I like to read) and a lot of their crafts. They got rid of all embroidery floss and more than half of their fabric line and the only yarn they sell is the Red Heart and some baby yarn and crochet thread. Almost all of the patterns are gone too. There are no knitting or crochet patterns or quilt except for the freebies but I can get them online. The elderly here have it bad because to get a variety of yarn or material you have to drive 75-100 miles and if you don't drive....that's bad. We have 2 quilt shops but their prices are out of this world.

Hello ladies!!!!

Hmmm! I haven't posed much here lately. Been busy w/ DH's uncle visiting from New York Jan 20 - Feb 8th. Feb 8th was a crazy day of getting him to the airport and my daughter to 2 diff B-day parties and DH & I had my friend's semi surprise 40th B-day dinner that night.

What am I talking about...Life in general is always crazy & busy.

My 17th wedding Anniversary was Feb 11th and my B-day is on Valentine's Day. Dh & I had a party on Sat night Feb 13th to celebrate them all. So Feb in general is always crazy for me.

I finished edging a toddler size blanket for nephew, but have cross stitch some boats on it to finish it.

I attempted a beanie cap that turned out to look like a beret, but dd likes it. She still wants me to crochet a flower to put on it. I finished what I call my "Rasta" scarf to send to one of my college aged nephews and started one for dd since she want to steal the first one I made, but need to finish it.

I put all those projects down and started making tropical colored dish clothes to put in my friends B-day basket. I love putting theme baskets together for presents. Wish I would have taken some pics of them before I gave her the gift. I only have a pic of her opening the basket, but you can't really see the dish clothes.

As soon as I had those done then I started on my sunflower squares for the spring fling floral swap.

So that's what I've been doing. Now I need to go back and read the many post I missed and look at everyone's projects. I love looking a everyone's pics.

Yes, so sad about all the Walmarts down sizing their material. The one closest to my house has remodeled and downsized their yarn to a small sec. They already had the food, but have re-arranged everything. I've only been in there a few times since the change and get so frustrated having to re-learn where everything is. LOL!!!! I'm not sure if it even has material any more.

I do have JoAnne's Fabric, Hobby Lobby & Michael's in a reasonable driving distance though.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone~
