Crochet "Chat"

Thank you very much, and yes their parents and especially grandparents are happy to see them learning something that will serve them personally as much as educationally! I never thought of the animal shelters, I'll the local ones and see if they would like a couple of mats!

I don't know what happened either. I haven't received anything in days. Do you have to subscribe frequently to keep it up? Anyway.....Honey, I'm home!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have all my sprng blocks done for the swap. All I have to do now is wash, bag, and package. Yeah!!!!!! They were fun.

Kat, I'm getting yarn together for your club. I'm just being slow. DH has a procedure tomorrow and I'm watching him real lose on what he's allowed to eat. He cheats....today it's all clear liquids. Will be glad when it's over tomorrw.

Hi purr,
I don't know what happened either. I haven't seen anything for four days but once I clicked on subscribe again they've started coming in. Maybe everyone is busy finishing up the spring squares or the weather has been so good everyone is outside.

Oh that's so hard to stick to! I can understand the urge to cheat. Baustin what do you do with a block swap? When I saw that thread I stayed away from it even though it sounded like fun because I didn't know what folks expected.

Oh I almost forgot! I'm going to be a grandma again!!! So now I have a place for the baby blanket I was working on to go. I think I will wait to finish it until we know the gender of grandbaby #4. I was going to use pink as you all suggested but if it's a boy they might not appreciate that. I have blue or pink to finish the border up with as soon as we find out.
We are so excited about a new grandchild! I've always teased the kids that we only want an even dozen and since there are 4 kids that means that they only need to have three kids each.

They all groaned then but now the 2 that have kids are saying three is totally doable!

They just need to have them before the oldest hits the teenage years cause that'll cure 'em.

Just think....my DH and I between us have 32 grandchildren and he has a great. I had 7 children and he had 4 from a previous marriage.

When we do a swap someone sponsors it and decides what kind of a block...square, hexagon, what size and if there is a theme such as the Spring Block swap. People sign up and you have to make a block for everyone signed up including yourself. If there aren't many sign ups you can make extra. I usually double the amount. When finished you contact the sponsor for the address to send them to and include return postage so you can get your blocks. Blocks have to be washed, put in individual bags with your regular name and your profile name on them. This is my second swap and it's fun and you get different blocks back to use as you want. I think I've covered everything but if I've missed something someone will find my mistake and let us both know. Hope you get to try one.

Thanks Baustin! 32 grandchildren! I would be deliriously happy with that many grandkids!!! They are such a blast and I've been looking forward to this since seeing how much my own kids worshipped their grandparents! Actually they are all grown and they still worship my parents! It is so much fun not having to stress about disciplining them or worry about their grades etc (well certainly not to the degree their parents do). We enjoy them sooo much!

Some of our grandchildren we've lost contact with through divorce but we still have a lot and Christmas and birthday time is something else. My daughter in WA and her daughter haven't ever seen nephews, nieces, cousins, etc. so plan a trip to NC in June when we go, so they can meet them all but my daughters two here in CA. I'm still trying to talk her into going back when we do. I'd love to have a family portrait. My two oldest sons have passed away so I have five left. I love to visit my daughter, 3 hrs from here, and play with her two. Preston is almost 11 and Owen is almost 1. I really enjoy them and the others when we travel to KS or NC to visit.

Oh that's so nice that you have the two girls and grandchildren close at least. So sorry to hear of your loss though! We are several hours drive from all of our children (5 hrs and 7 hrs) but we try to visit as often as we can. So happy to hear from another grandma that's lovin' the life!

Ain't that the truth!

I had a commission for 6 beanie hats I had to get finished. I'm still working on those tiny bereavement beanies...(they're so tiny I can only see to do them for so long). I've also been making some face scrubbies... just for fun I guess.
