She loves her hats and never fussess about them, probably because she's had them since day one. She was 6wks early and i got to be there for her birth so she's gotten very spoiled by me! I made my first crochet shirt for her when she was in the hospital and still have a couple little dressess that i made when she was still teeny.

. Thankfully I know it's not just me because everyone else says it too, lol. My nephew that's 2.5months younger than her looks NOTHING like our side of the family(blonde/blue), he's like a mini version of his dad, tan skin, dark hair and same face, except he has my little sisters wide eyes and they're BLUE, lol. I am making him a hat for Christmas so I may post a picture of him eventually too, if he can manage a cute face.. he always has a blah or crying face on lol.

I'd like to see him in a hat even if he isn't cute. Cute is overrated. At my age, I dread anyone calling me cute when I start drooling onto my bib.

Quote: They do hold thier shape, I used jewels on these ones only because I have a bunch from a different project, I used sequins on some of the others. For the bows I used hot glue and the jewels/sequins I found that tacky glue works better, not as much ooze out and you can use a toothpick to get right amount of tacky glue on sequins/jewels without ooze out

hi Lori,
I am full of questions. yesterday on my lunch break I made a wreath with regular yarn. it was all floppy and ruffly. I was so bummed I almost took it apart. I am so thankful you posted pictures. I came and took a look and went da....I need to shape it into a spiral. much better. yours look nice and round. mine not so much. how do you join these? I think I am doing something wrong.

after work I bought yarn to make furry wreaths. I have never worked with this type of yarn before. I ran it with a regular ply strand of yarn. the results were stiff and super hard to work with. all the ends of the fur yarn stick in and it is hard to see the chain. is there some seceret to using this type of yarn? your wreaths look so pretty. the finished swatch samples in the store look great. what am I doing wrong?

hair tie i was talking about
I am very interested in your hair tie. right now I am looking for a bunch of small projects to use up small balls of yarn. I have a mountain of them. the wreath I made yesterday was my first spiral. it was fun to make. do you have the pattern or a link for the tie? how is it worn in your hair? I am so excited. you guys are posting the stuff I am looking for. this is too cool. thanks to everybody.

This is how you wear it

I don't have a pattern or link but i can tell you sort of how to make it My Grandma made one for me when i was a little girl and after i learned how to crochet i figured out how to make it by looking at the one she gave me.

Basically you chain how ever many stitches long you want the spiral to be then add three more stitches then 3dc in the 4th chain stitch and 4dc in all the rest of the chain till you come to the end (you have to kind of twist it as you go) then in the last chain do the 4dc plus a single stitch. Then you chain for how long you want the middle to be mine was about 100 chain stitches long in the middle then you chain the same no. of stitches that you did for the first spiral and repeat. I hope that i clear i'm not good at giving instructions if you have questions i can try to answer them.
