Crochet "Chat"

Thanks Kassaundra & Norma! Gives me hope that DD will like it too.
I don't have a completed project like it to show, this is my first attempt at a skirt. I got the idea from an edging pattern In a book I got not too long ago. I will take pics when I finish it.

I really like the color and work as much as I can with it. Looking forward to seeing the finished "Rose".

I've started knitting a ''top down" raglan sweater but I now have carpal tunnel from so much hand activity that it may take awhile to finish.
Crochet is a little easier on my hand.

Thank you both. I was just happy to finish something so large. Working on two different scarves right now until I can find a yarn I really want for my big shawl project. I didn't really care for the one the pattern calls for, not soft enough for my taste for a wrap.

Speckledhen, I know you stated you came from a quilting background so maybe you would be interested in what I have been doing w/ my afghans. I have been making what I call fusion blankets from my afghans. I machine piece and go over the seams w/ a zigzag or decorative stitch then "quilt" the crocheted squares to the pieced square then assemble the individual squares into a blanket. I "quilt" them w/ yarn and a yarn needle. I really love how they turn out reversable and the fabric stabilizes the crochet so it doesn't warp out of shape.

Oh, my, that sounds really cool, but I don't think I could do that. I'm a 30 year fumbler, lol. Until a couple of years ago, I pieced all my quilts by hand in addition to hand quilting. I now use a machine since I just learned to use one to piece, but still quilt by hand. I can barely use that nice computerized machine the BYC staff gifted me with, but piecing with it sure does save my hands for the quilting part.

Would love to see a picture of one of your fusion blankets!!

This is one that the crocheted side is from the summer swap. The quilted side isn't really well thought out at all, but I wasn't sure it would even work so it was just supose to be easy scraps incase it was a complete failure.
