Crochet "Chat"

I love the socks! I had come into possession of a big old bag stuffed full of wool blend self striping sock yarns. I'm just too lazy to knit right now! Anyone have crochet sock patterns? Seems like I used to have one from the Lion Brand Sock book, but like Speckled Hen says, it does seem to me like a crochet stitch would be too thick to comfortably walk upon in shoes. Maybe a very tiny needle would work. Hmmm...

Love the afghan too.

I've been knitting my first lace project and am so proud of the way it's coming out that I just have to share...



It's not done yet, but I think that this will be my favorite scarf ever.

I do sort of know how to crochet, but with no idea what I'm supposed to learn after single crochet, I switched to knitting and have been loving it.

That's gorgeous! The next stitch to learn in crochet is the double crochet. You can watch tutorials on YouTube. You will be amazed at all of the things you can create using only DC!

Thanks for the compliment and the tip! I do want to learn to crochet better once I finish that scarf. Which reminds me, it's time for me to get off the computer and back to knitting!

Oh, I wish! No, the pattern is by another designer, Birdy Evans, and is called the Flit 'n Float Butterfly Scarf. You can find the pattern here, if anyone is interested. The holes are created by a series of brilliantly placed increases (Yarnovers) and decreases (both Knit 2 Together and Slip Slip Knit, abbreviated as k2tog and ssk, respectively.) The rest of the scarf is simple stockinette stitch, though on such a fine gauge I find its simplicity somewhat lessened!

The only other stitch is a Picot Bind-Off at the end of the ruffle. You may be able to see it if you look closely, it looks like small "bumps" on the edge as opposed to the flat edge that a more standard bind-off would create.

I think it would make a pretty skirt, sewing the panels together

I agree, it would make a very pretty skirt, but I don't think that I have the patience to knit up a bunch of those to make it... but if you or anyone else did it, I would love to see it!

Absolutely. Great idea Kass. I think I also lack patience for that tho. I did find my 2 Tunisian hooks yesterday tho!!

Back in May I finished my ripple afghan, but I hadn't posted the final picture yet... so... here it is! I absolutely loved how it turned out. The final dimensions were 6.5 ft by 5 ft.
