Crochet "Chat"

Hi Karen! Long time since I heard from ya! How's the greenhouse? I am starting to get spring fever with these nice days we've had.

My back feels great today! That figures it is raining and cold now!

Oh well. I have 7 chicken diapers to make! I'm staying pretty busy with that.

I'm sitting for Fee Fee and Moose , she's watching Diego and Moose was fussy in his vibratey chair thingy so he started to fuss. I put the ceiling fan on and now he is mesmarized. It worked with his brother and sister too......and now he's asleep. Mission accomplished!

Hi! Fee Fee and Moose! Sooo cute! She probably did just want a nickname like her brother.

Skand, you can stop by WI for a rest-hug stop too, not that we are really on your way, I suppose. And yeah! the eggs sending idea sounds great. I can send EE mutts maybe (depending on how well that venture goes. I only have Mr. Grizzly after all... (he still needs his tail feathers to grow back, but be literally pouted so bad when I took his girls outside I could not keep him away from them. Have you ever seen a Roo pout? it's really heartrending.) I'd move to Maine too, except for all the conditions keeping us here...and I like WI too...

KARAN!!! I could have sworn I saw you on this thread before you got sick. Glad you are better and glad you found us!

Okie glad you are ok! Tornadoes are Scary! Take it easy and don't you go painting! Fumes are not good for babies. When do you get that second Ultrasound?

Queen Scoot Hope you are all ok down there, and that the Tornadoes missed you!

Everyone have a great day! Winter is still going to rear it's not so pretty head for awhile here after the rain and stuff we are having. Spring is just taunting us.

Our RIR, Big red boi lost his 3 girls yesterday. Our barred rock, Crow2, lost his 2, and will be rehomed today with our buff orp, Ingot, and his 2 that are left. Ingot will be the only one that gets his girls back. He's also the one keeping his last two close by thier house. Popcorn lost 9 of his girls too.
Crow2 is the one that was brought to us, all wheezing and starving this summer. Poor Caydence doesnt know we sold her chicken Treela.

Ahh well, with all of my wonderful friends that I love sooo much are going to help us have a whole new awesome colorful flock! So what if we dont get peacocks again? We'll have ducks! OOOO and there are ponds nearby! I can take the girls egg hunting, who knows what we may find!

This applies to a lot of us! It's been in mid-to-upper 60s and into low 70s one day here. This a.m. was 45 degrees. Yesterday was 57 at same time. It's rained for two days and now we're ankle deep in water. So wanted to work the garden bed today. But, no. So I'll get more babyghan squares done. Will have to get a 'ghan done for a friend here before July, but think it may be a ripple pattern or something similar.

Hope all in OK are "ok". Agree the tornado at night thing is the scariest. We just had wind, rain and a bit of hail last night.

Have a good day all.

I have been looking for a pattern for a crocheted hat that I inherited because I'd like to recreate it. I cant find anything that looks like it anywhere. Next I started my own "creation" just hoping to discover the pattern on my own. Should I post a pic of the hat?

yeah, that was me watching my roo. At least I got the message and took him outside. He's much happier out there. He has 26 girls, right now, which will probably go down to 10 after we integrate. Not sure how I am going to pick which 10.
I am sorry you had to lose so many birds, Skand. Who knows, you might get peacocks again...and ducks and turkeys...and....

Everyone take care and hope everyone weathers the rest of winter and rocky transition into Spring OK!

Lobzi! If you post a pic of your hat, I am betting someone will be able to match a pattern to it that is at least similar. There are so many patterns out there! Good Luck and glad to have you with us!

OK great. Well here is one that shows the hat brim rolled. I is a very interesting outcome from a crochet stitch in that it has a barber-pole effect. I hope you can see what Im talking about.

And here is one with the brim open:

It is the nicest crochet or knit hat I have ever seen. I would love to be able to reproduce it. I got it from an estate give a way after a woman died. It is obviously hand-made but I have no way to find out by whom.
