I hatched out 5 lil baby white X lt brown bantam leghorns the other day .

Hoppy, my lone black silkie spends all his time with me. He has a nice diaper courtesy of luvmychix. He sits on a chair in the kitchen during the day and sits in a box in the bedroom at night. I usually let him sit on the bed for a bit with a towel under him wuth his diaper on. He seems pretty content. Once he was sitting on m y computer chair and fell off backwards and got the mouse cord under both wings with the cord behind his back. He was just hanging in mid air upside down. It was a pretty funny sight. Lucky I was there to untangle him right away. Now he tries to stay not so close to the edge.

congrats on the hatch Tiki! Love them cute lil fuzzies! Poor WriterofWords, she came yesterday to pick up the birds she's going to take care of then when we get to Maine, get it all set up, she'll send us our babies'babies.
She left with 3 carriers inside the truck.. and about 4 carriers in the back of the truck. I think she was thinking it was going to be around... oh 20 birds total... HA! She dun know Jim's bator... lol
BTw, anyone else offering to chick sit for us... beware,.. there are over 67 babies in the brooder right now,, about 100 in the nursery,,, and 150 more eggs in the bator waiting for the magic day.. lol

I lost one of my hens today.

We weren't real attached to her..she didn't assimilate to the hooman

culture like the others had, but still. She was a pretty white cochin girl, and she was laying for me. I'm pretty sure a hawk got her, but didn't make off with her b/c there were cochin roo feathers all over the place too. Our boy had tried to do his job, but didn't get there in time to save her. Just got there in time to fight him off and keep the hawk from getting a meal.

Does that diaper offer still stand? I've got one girl that if I lose her, both my DD and I will be broken hearted.

Oh, wow! I checked in for a minute last night and immediately had a huge HOT FLASH!

Love those men in kilts!! {Rocket - does he know how cute he is? I'm probably old enough to be his favorite aunt but WOW!!} And Karan, your cutie obviously knows he's a sweet cheeks! Better watch out - he's going to be a real ladies man!

We just got home from a great, free concert. The Navy Band was playing at our local college, and Mom got free tickets. If you get a chance to see them, I highly recommend it. I think all their shows are free, so it's a bargain too! The auditorium was packed!! There were no kilts there, but there were lots of guys in uniform! Nearly had another hot flash! Even my 15yo niece was talking about all those hot guys. (Oh, yeah, there were women in the band too, and they did a great job!) I think he said their final concert will be in Houston. Don't know how close any of you are to any of the cities they'll be playing, but you really should try to get tickets!!

Dale & Aaron wishing we would put the darn cameras up. The four fingers across the tie are his "nice" way of flipping me off! It has to do with geek-speak, and binary code. One of them would have to explain it.

He's wearing a great kilt (that's the actual name of it...) so it has longer hanging down parts and does not show off his mosquito eaten legs, in this pic...ooo were the bugs bad that day. Our wedding was in my mom's field at her house.

Jen4, I am not sure, but I think you can just leave the little tail that sticks out hang there for now...the experts will save you!

LC Aaron and Dale are very handsome. What nice pictures. With that finger talk reminds me of Nate being silly too. Wow they really do look a lot alike.
